This one hits nostalgia the hardest from all the 2.0 tracks. Thanks for the experience 🎵🎧

DJVI responds:

Nostalgia level maximum :D

I'm not into hardstyle at all, but this track is pretty nice.

Synfang responds:

Thank you! ^w^

I can say this is neither good or bad. It's nice, but there are many thing to improve:
- In the transitions between the song's sections, try to add some cymbals (Crashes for example)
- The mix lacks of reverb, which is very important in trance music. Try to put a reverb on the "Are You Ready" at 0:20 and at the voices after the first minute
- Add some more stuff to the drop lead, a supersaw could be a good choice.
- The drop (again) lacks of atmosphere in my opinion. You could add some sidechained saw chords mixed with the bass, or an arpeggio (in both cases, add some reverb, not too much though).
If you practice, you can reach very good levels, keep it up!

CrowdControlMusic responds:

Thank you man it's good advice. Particularly layering the lead with a supersaw was super cool and made it feel more musical, I tried it in a newer project.

I like the way you mixed the pad with the chores.
The mix has a problem though: in the drops, the kick and the rest of the drums are drained out from the other instruments, and they are a bit too low. Try to increase the kick volume and make it more punchy while making the overall drums pattern a little bit louder. Also, still in the drops, you could raise the high frequences of the saw melody and raise the low ones for the bass, paying attention not to overlap the last one with the kick. Still, not bad!

It is what you want it to be!

Reminds me of Nitrome games..

i see....

0:17 - 0:38 part is stunning :o

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

Great to hear from you again Mutty! I'm glad you liked the intro. That's a good sign because it's an important part of any song. Gotta keep the listeners intrigued. Thank you very much!

The mix is pretty confusing. The synths cover too much the drums (i can't hear any of them), try to lower the volume of the first ones or use Parametric EQ 2 to better merge all the instruments. You could add a sidechain to the bass too.
Your potential is interesting, if you understand how to make it work fully, you can do great things ;)

AlphaStormMusic responds:

I respect the criticism. This is actually one of the first EDM tracks I've released in months, so I'm a little rusty. On top of all that, I myself think this is a mediocre piece, and this is the one that explodes and everyone sees? The world makes zero sense sometimes xD Thanks for the review :) Also, well done guessing what DAW I use :P

Great work! Maybe the bass at the end could be moved an octave above, but the rest is on place =)

Spline-1337 responds:

Thaaanks!

This flows well, i like it. :)

PaulyBFromDa303 responds:

I appreciate that. A lot had changed in those five years, as it has in the 13 since I've started. It's good to know that some things still get recognition where it's needed for that matter. Thank you very much!
